The friction
Digital friction decides how much of the asset guests actually reach.
Rooms, restaurants, spa, the arrival experience: the capital is committed. What guests never find, never ask about or abandon halfway is the part of it that goes unrealised. None of it shows in a capex line; all of it suppresses asset performance.
The layer
Ownership activates it.
HotelCite deploys and manages it.
Owner-side digital infrastructure: a governed information-and-routing layer above the asset's existing digital estate. One verified property graph powers the property's HotelCite pages, search, WhatsApp, QR access and future AI-agent access: a governed direct-intent layer that external systems can read.
- Languages
- Guests ask in their own language across HotelCite's declared supported languages, with human-reviewed terminology available per market; the declared set is confirmed at scoping.
- Your website
- Stays exactly as it is. HotelCite adds an independent layer, links only to approved official destinations — your official pages — rather than competing with them, and the HotelCite property page is not the hotel’s official website and never presents itself as such. Content rights stay with the property.
- Entry points
- HotelCite supplies contextual QR codes for check-in, guest rooms, and venues; each opens the property's governed answers with the right context already loaded.
- Portability
- The record stays with the asset: it survives operator and brand transitions under the rights schedule, and contractual and content rights remain portable to ownership.
- Authority
- Ownership activates and funds the service without an operator implementation project. Approved sources, contacts, and publication remain with the authorised property, operator or brand representative; the operator's only ask is delegated access on the property-controlled WhatsApp number. Neither side builds or runs the layer; HotelCite is retained to deploy and manage it end to end.
Governed answers only, from approved information: official published information and hotel-approved answers. External signals help HotelCite understand the question; they do not silently become hotel truth.

What it changes
What changes for the asset.
-
Built for the asset
Technology built to boost asset value across hotels and resorts.
-
Easy to activate
Plug-and-play: switched on by ownership, deployed and managed by HotelCite, live without an operator project.
-
Measurable and portfolio-ready
Guest demand, unresolved questions and route health, at asset level. One standard, deployed property by property.
The licence
One annual licence, per property.
A premium, managed, owner-side digital asset and information-governance service. Billed annually, with a setup engagement that builds and validates the governed property record. No per-question fees, and no runtime LLM (no generative model at answer time), so there is no model cost to serve an answer.

Once, before go-live.
- Property coverage and governed information graph
- HotelCite property page
- Search and WhatsApp information experiences
- Initial SEO, AEO, GEO and technical SEO diagnostic
- An owner-ready report that can be sent directly to the operator
Premium operator coordination
Coordination runs as a partnership with the operator’s technical team: findings are shared with them first, and their fixes are confirmed together rather than policed.
Separately quoted.
- Communicating findings to the operator's technical team
- Issue and response register
- Reviewing proposed remedies
- Follow-up meetings and implementation clarification
- Retesting completed work and reporting outcomes to ownership
One coverage standard, across the estate.
Portfolio agreements apply one standard, deployed property by property, with comparative property coverage, source health and content-gap reporting from one owner control room, and consolidated, privacy-bounded analytics of aggregated demand — including unresolved demand — across the estate.
The comparison
Four routes to a guest's question.
Guest-messaging platforms help operate guest conversations. HotelCite governs what the property can officially answer, proves where each answer came from, distributes it across every intent surface, and returns the resulting demand directly to the hotel.
HotelCite does not replace guest-operations platforms. It is an independent verified-information and intent-routing layer, complementary to existing messaging and PMS technology, and designed to sit beneath them as the property's information authority.
The three other columns describe how those categories typically work. No vendor is named.
Scroll sideways to compare the four routes.
| Owner concern | Conventional website & SEO | Generic LLM chatbot | Hotel messaging platforms | HotelCite |
|---|---|---|---|---|
| Answer trust | Guest must find and interpret a page | May paraphrase, blend or invent | Usually automated conversational answers | Exact supported answer with official page, title, link, freshness and provenance |
| Owner control | Information scattered across pages | Controlled indirectly through prompts and content | Managed through topics, FAQs and workflows | Governed facts, routes, contacts and publication status in one inspectable property graph |
| Direct relationship | Search engines and OTAs intermediate discovery | Often returns an answer without a hotel action | Strong messaging and booking conversion | Every supported intent can end at the hotel's official page, telephone number or approved destination |
| AI-agent readiness | HTML is inconsistently understood | Usually designed for humans chatting | Primarily guest-communication channels | The same graph answers guests and external travel agents deterministically |
| Cross-channel consistency | Separate website, FAQ and messaging content | Separate embeddings or prompts per deployment | Usually centralised messaging channels | One answer authority across HotelCite pages, search, WhatsApp, QR and agent access |
| Evidence and accountability | Analytics show visits, not whether answers were supported | Logs show outputs, not necessarily their authority | Conversation and operational reporting | Answer-level receipts: query, selected intent, official source, route, quotation and action |
| Freshness risk | Stale pages remain silently available | Stale indexed content may continue being served | Requires maintained knowledge and integrations | Source refresh state, provenance and expiry can block unsupported or stale answers |
| Demand intelligence | Search Console and analytics are fragmented | Raw conversations require later interpretation | Strong conversation and performance dashboards | Demand classified against the property graph: answered, ambiguous, unsupported or missing |
| Visual evidence | Images are browsable but not queryable | Vision systems may make ungrounded interpretations | Generally text and service focused | Official photographs routed as explicitly labelled photo evidence, never silently treated as fact |
| Portfolio governance | Usually handled site by site | Prompt and index sprawl | Mature multi-property consoles | Per-hotel readiness, publication controls, source health and coverage gaps from one owner control room |
| Failure behaviour | Dead end or generic search result | Confidently wrong answers remain possible | Escalation and handoff varies | Deterministic clarification, official fallback or abstention instead of improvisation |
| Cost to serve | Hosting and maintenance | Model inference per use | Typically per-conversation or bundled licensing | No runtime LLM: no per-conversation model cost, no per-question fees |

Email usThe ask
Give every guest the fastest path to the hotel's supported answer, without an integration project, another system for staff to operate, or invented answers.
No invented answers: unsupported questions clarify, route to an official source, or fail closed.

Who we work with
We work with owners. Put us in touch with your owner and we’ll get you activated.
We work with owners, asset managers and private-market funds.
Our experience is with private-market investors and hotel-asset owners.
The initial diagnostic is written to be shared with the operator. Where ownership wants the loop closed, the premium service communicates findings to the operator's technical team, keeps a register of responses, and retests the work before reporting the outcome back to ownership.
Questions owners ask.
Will it invent answers?
HotelCite is designed to answer only when governed evidence supports the response, and to clarify, route to an official source or fail closed — an explicit abstention, never a guess — when it does not.
Does it replace hotel staff?
No. HotelCite supplies public information and routes. Staff remain responsible for judgement, service and operational decisions.
Does it need the PMS or CRM?
No. The core service is built from the property's public estate and owner approvals, without PMS, CRM or booking-engine integration.
Who owns the WhatsApp number?
The default model is a property-controlled WhatsApp Business number, with HotelCite receiving delegated technical access.
What does the setup engagement create?
Property coverage and the governed information graph, the HotelCite property page, the search and WhatsApp experiences, and an initial SEO, AEO, GEO and technical SEO diagnostic with an owner-ready report.
Does it replace our guest-messaging platform?
No. HotelCite is an independent verified-information and intent-routing layer, complementary to messaging and PMS technology.
Do you support asset classes beyond hotels?
Yes — we also support student housing: student housing assets are covered under the same governed model. Write to us, name the asset, and we will scope it.
Do you provide QR codes for the hotel?
Yes. HotelCite supplies contextual QR codes for check-in, guest rooms and venues. Each code opens the property's governed answers with the right context already loaded, so a guest in the room asks from the room.
I run the hotel. Can I buy it?
We work with owners. Put us in touch with your owner and we'll get you activated; operators keep delegated access on the property-controlled number and approve sources throughout.
What happens to data at the end of the relationship?
The guest channel runs on the property-controlled WhatsApp number, so it stays with the property. The governed record is portable to ownership under the rights schedule, HotelCite's copies are deleted on termination, and retention, portability and deletion terms are defined during deployment and set in the agreement.
